Early in the morning before Prue's funeral, Piper tries to use the Book of Shadows one last time to bring Prue back to life. Unknown to Piper, the last spell she tries sets off a chain of events that leads a young woman named Paige to Prue's funeral, where Phoebe has a premonition of Paige being attacked by the demon that killed Prue. As Cole and Phoebe try to save Paige from Shax, they discover Paige has the ability to orb, which sends Leo and Cole off to learn if she's a whitelighter. While Leo returns with no information, Cole discovers The Source believes that Paige may be able to reconstitute the Charmed Ones. This sends Piper off to confront her grandmother, which leads Phoebe and Piper to learn that their mother had a fourth daughter with her whitelighter lover which they gave up shortly after she was born.
Episode 68: 'Charmed Again Part 2'
With the Power of Three about to be restored, the Source plots to use an ancient agreement between good and evil, that leaves a forty-eight hour window of opportunity for a new witch to decide, of her own free will, to use her powers for good or evil. The Source possess Paige's boyfriend in attempt to trick her into using her power for evil, which would not only prevent the Halliwells from becoming the Charmed Ones again, but turn Paige to evil side of magic forever. As Piper and Phoebe rush to prevent The Source from carrying out its plan, they are faced with an Inspector that believes they are responsible for Prue's death and seeks to expose their family secret to the world.
Episode 69: 'Hell Hath No Fury'
Paige takes the Book of Shadows into her work to cast spells which help her co-workers. However, she is unaware of the potential consequences of her actions and Phoebe has to help correct them. Piper, who is filled with anger over the death of Prue and the recent actions of Paige, is possessed by a member of a supernatural band of vigilantes known as the Furies. Shortly afterwards, she turns on those around her, including Paige, Phoebe and Leo. Leo orbs Piper and Paige to who Piper is really angry at and they arrive at Prues grave.
Episode 70: 'Enter The Demon'
When making a potion, a put-upon Paige wishes to have a life like the more experienced Phoebe and inadvertently switches bodies with her. While they cover the switch up so Piper doesn't get angry, Piper herself gets involved with a Chinese Zen Master. His student, Yen Lo, has turned to the dark side and been "killed" by the Master's daughter, but is managing to stay alive by hiding out in limbo. Yen Lo takes his former master prisoner and holds him in Limbo, then goes after the daughter (he can emerge into the real world temporarily through puddles of water). Paige and Phoebe deal with each other's romantic entanglements, then figure out how to switch souls back. They then use the potion to switch Piper's soul with the Master's, and he helps them get to Limbo and defeat Yen Lo and send him on to his next karmic life.
Episode 71: 'Size Matters'
While Piper hires a manager to redesign P3, Paige believes that she's senses something wrong with a house that she walks by and asks her sisters to investigate. After dismissing Paige's feelings about the house, Paige turns to Leo for help talking Piper and Phoebe into checking out the house. Not taking Paige's fears too seriously, Phoebe checks out the house alone and is attacked by a demon known as, Gammill, The Collector, who shrinks her to about five inches tall. As Phoebe seeks to escape, Gammill learns that she is part of the Charmed Ones, and plots to not only shrink her sisters, but turn them all into one of kind figurines to add to his twisted collection.
Episode 72: 'Knight To Remember'
Paige searches the Book of Shadows trying to find the missing piece of a fairy tale she's hasn't been able to remember since she was young. When she discovers, what turns out to be a forgotten spell, Paige inadvertently casts the spell, calling a medieval prince from the past that believes Paige is his true love. The sisters soon learn the fairy tale was really a past life of Paige's, where she was an evil enchantress, using magic to trick the prince into impregnating her so she could rule his kingdom forever. Meanwhile, Phoebe and Piper are unable to banish a Shocker demon without the Power of Three and believe it may be best of Paige moves into the Manor with them so they can battle to forces of evil more easily.
Episode 73: 'Brain Drain'
Cole brings news that the Source has sent a Chameleon demon to Halliwell Manor to spy of the Charmed Ones. When the Chameleon demon's cover is blown, the Source destroys him and takes his place in an attempt to use the fact that the girls will try to hunt down the Chameleon demon and vanquish him, against the sisters. The Source then manages to kidnap Piper and uses his dark magic to project into her mind, trying to convince Piper that she isn't really a witch but a patient in a mental hospital. The Source ultimately wants manipulate Piper into relinquish her powers to him so he can destroy her and her sisters.
Episode 74: 'Black As Cole'
While tracking down a demon that they believe is responsible for killing witches, Cole suddenly proposes to Phoebe. The girls soon learn they didn't get the right demon when another witch turns up dead, and while investigating come across Emma who is hunting a demon to avenge the death of her fiance. Emma reveals that Belthazor was responsible the one that killed her finace, as the girls discover the new Assistant DA is really the demon that has been killing the witches. Meanwhile, Paige brings home a mechanical baby so Piper and Leo can test their parenting skills.
Episode 75: 'Muse To My Ears'
Now that the Source is wounded, Cole worries that various forces of evil will target the Charmed Ones in order to prove themselves worthy of taking the Source's place. The girls soon learn that Cole's fears were justified when Devlin, a warlock, uses the Ring of Inspiration to capture muses and use their powers to inspire a faction of warlocks help him destroy the Charmed Ones and to overthrow The Source. Meanwhile, while still trying to adjust to his loss of his demonic powers, Cole buys a gun in order to help protect Phoebe.

Episode 77: 'Trial By Magic'
While serving on a jury in case of a stage magician accused of murdering his wife, Phoebe has a premonition that the defendant is not the real killer. Phoebe now realizes his claims to have had a premonition which allowed him to lead the police his wives' body was real and not just an ploy to get away with murder. Unable to convince her fellow jurors that the man was framed, she must prove that magic really exists in order to win them over. Piper becomes irritated when Paige invites her friend Glen to stay at the Manor while in town.
Episode 78: 'Lost and Bound'
Paige brings Tyler, a runaway, to the Manor after witnessing him starting a fire with his mind. After Piper gains Tyler's trust, she learns that his foster parents were going to send him to a demonic academy that would normally train those with his magical gift to be body guards of the Source. Elsewhere while Cole tries to be more human and start a new job, Phoebe begins to turn into an old-fashion housewife after putting on her Grandmother's engagement ring.
Episode 79: 'Charmed and Dangerous'
The Source learns from his Seer that his future plans to kill the Charmed Ones will lead to his death. The Source then breaks an ancient agreement between good and evil and steals the Hollow, which can absorb magic of good and evil beings. With the Hollow under his control, The Source plots to steal the powers of the girls, in order to leave them defenseless and unable to withstand a face to face battle with him. When the Seer sees that The Source's plan will ultimately lead to the destruction all life, she summons Cole to underworld to help with a plan to destroy The Source.
Episode 80: 'The Three Faces of Phoebe'
When Phoebe has second thoughts about marrying Cole, she turns to magic to help her decide. Her spell has some undesired effects when she summons her past younger self and her future older self to the present, neither being willing at first to help Phoebe with her problem. Meanwhile, Cole finds himself slowly being taken over by The Source, as old rival seeks to takes The Source's place in the underworld. Paige learns a recent spell gave her the edge over a colleague for a promotion.
Episode 81: 'Marry-Go-Round'
The Seer informs Cole that his son with Phoebe will become the most powerful force the magical world has ever seen, but will be on the side of good unless he and Phoebe have a dark wedding instead of the white wedding Phoebe has already planned. Cole then plots to sabotage his planned wedding, in order to trick Phoebe into entering a dark union without her knowing.
Episode 82: 'The Fifth Halliwell'
Paige feels like the 'fifth wheel' as Piper and Leo celebrate their first anniversary and newlyweds Cole and Phoebe paw at each other. Cole, however has other plans when he learns that he has to impregnate Phoebe within the next twenty-four hours in order to have a child that will turn out evil. Meanwhile, the girls encounter an innocent who was used by a Demonic Power Broker, to store a power, which could kill her if the girls can't get her the needed potion in time.
Episode 83: 'Saving Private Leo'
The girls encounter two ghosts from Leo's past that return to seek revenge because they believe he left them to die during the war. Confronted with the memory of letting down his former friends, Leo winds up losing his powers, when the ghosts kill one of his charges. Cole enlisted the help of a sexy demon to make Phoebe's life unhappy at the Manor in order to get her to move away from her sisters.
Episode 84: 'Bite Me'
Cole conspires to bring a number of evil factions together in an unholy alliance to control all evil. But an old enemy of the Source known as the Vampire Queen plots to turn Paige into a vampire and use her power as a Charmed One to defeat Cole. Once bitten, Paige's sisters rush to stop her before she drinks the blood of an innocent which will complete Paige's transformation. Meanwhile, Piper begins to share Paige's suspicions that Cole may evil again and Phoebe learns that she is pregnant.
Epsiode 85: 'We're Off To See The Wizard'
Cole's plans to become the new Source runs into problems when the last known wizard turns up to steal the Grimoire (the evil Book of Shadow), so Cole's coronation can not continue. When the wizard fails, he seeks the help of the Charmed Ones, citing that he is seeking revenge after the Source had killed all his fellow wizards in the past. While, Piper works on a plan to steal the Grimoire, Paige goes to inform Phoebe of the situation and tells her that she and Piper both believe Cole is a demon again. At first Phoebe rejects Paige's claims about Cole, but later learns the truth when she has a premonition seeing what Cole has been up to lately. However, Phoebe's pregnancy and love for Cole causes her to be conflicted between good and evil.
Episode 86: 'Long Live The Queen'
After siding with Cole, Phoebe find herself as the Queen of the Underworld and is given a tonic by the Seer that is not only pure evil to feed her child but also suppresses her good side. However, after having a premonition that one of Cole's demons will kill an innocent, she surprises her sisters by requesting their help to save him. Phoebe finds herself conflicted between doing good and being evil, but Paige believes that in the end Phoebe will return to the Charmed Ones and enlists Piper to banish Cole hoping Phoebe will come to their aid when it counts.
Episode 87: 'Womb Raider'
As Phoebe has dreams that the Seer is going to steal her unborn child, the baby begins using its magic, mainly to harm Paige. The Seer seeks the help of a demon that the Source had imprisoned in his dungeon, offering him his freedom in return to help capture Phoebe, so the Seer can take the baby and become the new Source. Meanwhile, Piper learns that she may have problems having a child of her own and Darryl helps the girls cover up Cole's death.
Episode 88: 'Witch Way Now?'
After fulfilling their shared destiny, the Charmed Ones get a visit from the Angel of Destiny with an offer to live normal non-magical lives again as a reward for vanquishing the Source. While Paige wants to keep her powers, Piper and Phoebe want time to consider the Angel's offer. In the mean time, Phoebe discovers that Cole is still alive in another plane of existence known as the Wasteland and the girls are blackmailed by an FBI agent that claims to be after a young girl he believes to be a serial killer that kills witches.
